Getting Started
What is Socialmesh?
Socialmesh is a mobile app for communicating over Meshtastic mesh radio
networks. It allows you to send messages, share locations, and stay
connected without relying on cellular networks or the internet.
Requirements

iOS 15.0 or later /
Android 8.0 or later

A compatible Meshtastic radio device (e.g., LILYGO
T-Beam, Heltec V3, RAK WisBlock)
- Bluetooth enabled on your phone
Quick Start Guide

Turn on your Meshtastic device and ensure Bluetooth
is enabled
- Open Socialmesh and tap "Connect Device"

Select your device from the list of available
Bluetooth devices

Connection Issues
Q: My device isn't appearing in the scan list
- Ensure your Meshtastic device is powered on
- Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
- Make sure no other app is connected to the device
- Try restarting both your phone and the Meshtastic device
Q: I keep getting disconnected
- Move closer to your Meshtastic device
- Check the battery level of your device

Messaging
Q: My messages aren't being delivered
- Check that you're connected to a Meshtastic device
- Ensure there are other nodes within range
- Messages may take time to propagate through the mesh network
- Check that the channel encryption matches other nodes
Q: What do the message status icons mean?
- Pending: Message queued for transmission
- Sent: Message transmitted via radio

Delivered: Message acknowledged by the recipient's
device (this confirms radio-level receipt, not that the message was
read)
- Failed: Delivery failed after retries

Q: How do I restore my purchases on a new device?
Open Socialmesh, go to Settings → Premium Features, and tap "Restore
Purchases". Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID or Google
account used for the original purchase.
Maps & Location
Q: Why don't some nodes appear on the map?
Nodes only appear on the map if they have GPS enabled and have shared
their location. Some nodes may have GPS disabled to conserve battery
or for privacy reasons.
Q: How do I share my location?
Go to Settings → Position Settings and enable "Share Location". You
can configure how often your location is broadcast and whether to
include altitude.
